The Congress

HYPOGEA 2026

HYPOGEA is an international scientific platform dedicated to the study, documentation, protection and promotion of artificial cavities and underground cultural heritage.

The 2026 Congress will provide a forum for presenting new research, exchanging professional experience and discussing approaches to the conservation, interpretation and sustainable management of rock-cut monuments and other human-made underground spaces.

HYPOGEA 2026 is held under the patronage of the Union Internationale de Spéléologie (UIS). The Congress is organized by the Georgian National Museum and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia in partnership with the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.
